The craft behind a perfect finish

Dry lining has revolutionized interior construction — creating perfectly flat walls and ceilings faster and cleaner than traditional methods. But quality still demands skill: precise measurement, perfect alignment, and expert jointing techniques.

Our team specializes in all aspects of plasterboard work from stud partition construction to ceiling installations. We understand different board types, fixing methods, and finishing techniques to deliver the right solution for every situation.

We work across plasterboard fixing, metal and timber stud partitions, suspended ceilings, and acoustic installations. Whether you're converting a loft, dividing rooms, or simply wanting smooth walls, we combine modern efficiency with traditional attention to detail.

🏠
Plasterboard & Skimming
Expert plasterboard fixing to walls and ceilings using dot-and-dab, mechanical fixings, or battening systems. We then skim to create perfectly smooth, paint-ready surfaces that are indistinguishable from traditional wet plastering.
🧱
Stud Partitions
Timber and metal stud partition construction creating new rooms and dividing spaces. Properly insulated for sound and thermal performance, with services incorporated, and finished to your exact requirements.
Suspended Ceilings
Lower ceiling heights, conceal services, and improve acoustics with suspended ceiling systems. From plasterboard-on-frame to grid ceiling installations, we deliver level, professional results.
🔲
Loft & Garage Conversions
Complete dry lining packages for loft and garage conversions. We handle sloped ceilings, dormer walls, insulation, vapor barriers, and all finishing — transforming unused spaces into beautiful rooms.
🏗
Soundproofing & Insulation
Acoustic dry lining systems reducing noise transmission between rooms and properties. Using resilient bars, acoustic plasterboard, and proper insulation, we dramatically improve sound reduction.

How We Work

Our Drylining process.

01
Assessment & Planning
We measure accurately, assess existing structures, and discuss your requirements. Identifying the best fixing method, board types needed, and any Building Regulation considerations.
02
Framework & Preparation
Constructing timber or metal stud frameworks to perfect tolerances. Installing noggins for fixtures, routing for services, and ensuring frameworks are level, plumb, and square.
03
Board Installation
Plasterboard fixed with correct spacing, staggered joints, and appropriate fixings. Boards cut accurately around openings, services, and obstacles. All edges properly supported.
04
Jointing & Finishing
Professional taping and jointing for invisible seams. Skim coating for perfect smooth finish, or tape-and-fill for direct decoration. Every surface checked for flatness and imperfections

Drylining Types & Finishes

The right finish for every surface.

Different surfaces and project types call for different Drylining systems. We work with all of the major manufacturers and will always specify the most appropriate product for your project.

Standard Plasterboard
General purpose boards for walls and ceilings The most common plasterboard type — suitable for general dry lining applications in dry internal areas. Available in various thicknesses for different structural and acoustic requirements.
Ideal for: STANDARD WALLS · CEILINGS · PARTITIONS
Moisture Resistant Board
Essential for wet areas Green-tinted moisture-resistant boards crucial for bathrooms, kitchens, and other humid environments. Resists moisture absorption and prevents degradation in high-humidity conditions.
Ideal for: BATHROOMS · KITCHENS · UTILITY ROOMS
Fire Resistant Board
Enhanced fire protection Pink or red boards offering increased fire resistance — essential for protecting escape routes, party walls, and areas requiring enhanced fire ratings under Building Regulations.
Ideal for: PARTY WALLS · ESCAPE ROUTES · BUILDING REGS COMPLIANCE
Acoustic Plasterboard
Superior sound reduction Higher-density boards specifically designed to reduce sound transmission. Used with resilient bars and proper insulation, dramatically improves acoustic performance between rooms.
Ideal for: HOME CINEMAS · MUSIC ROOMS · PARTY WALLS
Thermal Board
Insulated plasterboard Plasterboard bonded to insulation layers providing thermal improvement to walls. Ideal for solid wall insulation, garage conversions, and improving energy efficiency.
Ideal for: GARAGE CONVERSIONS · SOLID WALL INSULATION · COLD WALLS
Impact Resistant Board
Heavy-duty boards Reinforced plasterboard with added strength for areas prone to impacts. Perfect for commercial settings, corridors, sports facilities, and family homes needing extra durability.
Ideal for: COMMERCIAL · HIGH-TRAFFIC AREAS · SCHOOLS

Common Questions

Drylining FAQs.

Dot-and-dab uses adhesive dabs to stick plasterboard directly to flat masonry walls — quick and economical. Battening fixes boards to timber or metal frames, better for uneven walls and where insulation or services are needed behind.

Yes, using acoustic plasterboard, resilient bars, proper insulation, and independent stud systems. We can significantly reduce sound transmission, though complete soundproofing is virtually impossible. The level of reduction depends on budget and construction methods employed.

For sound reduction, yes — insulation dramatically improves acoustic performance. For thermal requirements, it depends on location (e.g., insulation essential against external walls or unheated spaces). Building Regulations specify requirements for different situations.

Use proper plasterboard fixings rated for the load — toggle bolts, spring toggles, or cavity anchors. For very heavy items (radiators, wall-hung toilets, TVs), we install noggins (horizontal timber supports) during construction at the required heights.

Why Hire a Professional Dry Liner?

While dry lining seems simpler than plastering, poor workmanship shows immediately: visible joints, uneven surfaces, cracking, and poorly aligned boards. Professional dry liners understand structural loading, fixing requirements, joint positioning, and finishing techniques that create invisible seams and perfectly flat surfaces. We work faster, waste less material, and guarantee results that last.
